Oliver is an economist at MKE's Hanoi office, with wide experience in international contexts and a deep interest in evidence-driven approaches to global challenges.
An Oxford graduate, Oliver completed a BA in Politics, Philosophy and Economics. In addition to leading the UK's largest student-run interdisciplinary research organisation, he won the Isaiah Berlin Prize for ranking top of his college. He holds an MA in Economics and Management from Peking University, China, with a particular focus on cleantech, development, and economic reforms.
Before joining MKE, Oliver served as strategy research consultant for the $100bn Asia-focused development finance institution, the AIIB. His experience spans both public and private sector impact channels: he also supported deal advisory for impact and ESG projects at a London-based investment bank, where clients included S&P 500 companies, sovereign wealth funds, and G7 governments, united by a shared interest in the energy transition.
At MKE he has worked across projects in infrastructure, clean energy, circular economy, technology, tourism, investment, and conflict-afflicted regions, for major international organisations and development agencies. In his spare time, he enjoys running, hiking, language learning and art.
