He has published extensively in areas of interest including macroeconomic policy, monetary policy and international finance. His research work concentrates on Southeast Asia, particularly Thailand and Vietnam. |

He is a member of the Danish Economic Association, the American Economic Association, and the Royal Economic Society and has carried out a great variety of advisory and consultancy tasks, including work for academic institutions and bilateral as well as multilateral agencies. |
